dog swim

The city pool opens up the very last day of the summer for the dogs.
Dog Swim.
Dogs are $2.50, people are free

 There were dogs everywhere.
One even had a life jacket on.  Bless his heart.

 And there were no rules.
So dogs could go down the slide.
(or be strongly nudged and encouraged by their owner to go down)

And little kids who aren't normally tall enough could go down too.
All at the same time.

And dogs could go off the diving boards.

The kids thought it was pretty much the coolest activity ever.

this is sooooo funny. cracked me up. my very favorite was the "bless his heart" though :) oh man, i laughed out loud. it's one of my VERY favorite sayings. when we lived in Charlotte, NC we used it all the time. you can say ANYTHING you want if you follow it up with "bless your/their/his/her heart". "Jimmy Bob is the dumbest person I have ever met...bless his heart"..."Georgia May fell from the ugly tree...bless her heart." hahaha. i really am a nice person, i promise :) it's just too funny not to try every now and then. loved the pics.

That's hilarious...I knew the pool did that, but since we don't have a dog, we've not gone. Perhaps next year we'll have to go so Luke can do down the "big slide." He's been asking us all summer to go down it.

OK. For me, that would be so not cool. I have "dog-phobia", (and all the couples in our small group have dogs except us! therefore, study is at OUR house!). Thinking of dogs peeing in that water - gross. No thanks. But am so glad some people had lots of fun. I got a laugh and I KNOW Taylor and Mason had a blast!! Just could not be something I would begin to do. That would be horror house for me!
