I found on this blog a little bit of information on how this all happened (I am stealing an excerpt)...
"First I wanted to say that for all of those people that bash twitter and facebook and online networking… I have seen an amazing story from the use of these simple online tools. Because of twitter, youtube, and facebook, Kate McRae’s story… and her parent’s outlook on the situation will be aired on the Dr. Phil show on December 2nd. How amazing is that?
I remember when Brian and I felt helpless the weekend that we heard about what happened to our little kate. So we just started twittering about it, making a video about her story, and praying. We decided to twitter to all the celebrities that we followed including Dr. Phil. haha. We didnt even think anything of it. It was all we could do. We twittered and facebook LITTERALLY all weekend long.
....The more people that know and can pray the better. Dr. Phil was moved by Kate’s story and blogged out it, and even logged on to chat and pray with us during an online prayer night that Brian led to pray for kate. And from there….kate’s situation was the first story in years that Dr. Phil himself had brought to his team requesting that they do.
We are greatly thankful for those simple online tools that can help us spread the word. I was really shocked and humbled that God can really use ANYTHING and ANYONE...."
So set your DVRs and don't MISS Dr. Phil with the McRae Family!!!

I will be traveling to Arkansas. So sad! And because they had to upgrade that stupid tv system, I can't videotape any more and we aren't modern or smart enough to do DVRs. So sad. Maybe they will have an exerpt of it on the computer. Have to look up Dr. Phil's site.
