While we are all getting back into a routine after Dave being gone, and the little trip we took too,
I'll just share a quick post that pertains to nothing going on right now.

One thing I've learned from taking Ashley's SnapShop course is that I really despise taking pictures inside my house. Which is kind of a bummer, since that's where most of our every day moments happen.
I've begin to despise my wall colors. Okay, not despise. But I definitely wish for something new.
. I think I got on this kick of wanting to change things up since last year when we almost bought a new house. And I'm still on it. Dave's starting to agree also.
So we may have some huge projects involving a lot of paint somtime.
But then again, I'm really scared that I'll miss my rich, cozy colors.
BUT, with all of that said. I have found that learning to shoot in manual helps my pictures inside to turn out SOOO much better.
And maybe an external flash or a diffuser will help too.
Thankfully I have 2 happy models that don't mind being in front of the camera.
The other child usually wants nothing to do with it.
So I snapped away, as these 2 did their thing.
I seriously cannot believe how much I learned and understand from this course.
I still take 20 bad pictures to 1 good one.
And my 1 good one, still probably isn't that good to people with a great eye for photography.

I still accidentally crop out things that shouldn't be. I overexpose and underexpose and don't get the right things in focus.
But getting that ONE good shot that makes me smile and feel all warm and fuzzy inside is worth all the effort and mistakes.
You should take Ashley's course - seriously. She didn't ask me to tell you that. And obviously I won my course, and didn't pay for it. But now that I've taken it, I would TOTALLY pay the cost for the course. Worth every penny. Unfortuneately, I think a course just started this past Monday, and it may be the last one till the fall. But go like her on Facebook at Under the Sycamore, so you can see announcements for future courses.
For now, here's her page of lots of photography tips.

They are just adorable and you did an awesome job with your photos. Thank you for sharing your beautiful family...just too sweet!
couldn't agree with you more on the inside lighting! I said in our next house i was LIGHTER colors and MORE windows...Red walls just don't cut it anymore! you're doing great Amanda...isn't it fun to be in control of your camera? One thing i've learned to is to not 'miss' a moment just because i'm trying to find a good setting, so i've learned that outside when i don't have alot of time to play around with my camera...just to set it on auto...it does great most of the time! Its so easy to want that perfect picture! just my little tidbit ;o)
