down to Winfieldtown

Another year at Winfield over. We had such a great time, and the kids did AWESOME!! It was so much fun to have them there with us for most of the time.

I'm not sure how fast I'll get our pictures sorted and edited and posted. So for now, here's one of my favorites from the weekend.

We were at Stage 1...the grandstands. The kids really weren't as interested in the music as they were climbing up and down the benches non-stop. So we went down to the ground instead and let them run around and dance.

Here's a song that I've been singin since I heard it...Taylor dancing around singing it too. It's from one of my favorite artists at the festival, Tom Chapin. It's more folk music than bluegrass music. It's a song all about going to Winfield for the festival! Those of you who are from Winfield...I'm pretty sure you will LOVE this song! And those of you not, it will make you want to go next year!

Down to Winfield Town - Tom Chapin

Hopefully this link will work. It may only allow a certain number of hits...but just try and if it doesn't work, I'll try to figure something else out.

More from Winfield Town coming up!

I'll leave you with one more song/video from Tom Chapin...dedicated to my teacher friends. He sang this again this year and I LOVE it...it's so true...all about THE TESTS!!!

If you go to YouTube, you can find a video where he does a "musical testimony" for the New York State Senate, during one of their sessions...wearing the hat of an activist fighting for the arts being taken out of schools. This song about the tests was also sang for the legislators!

I enjoyed listening to the songs you shared. I've never been to Winfield for the Bluegrass. We go to Branson for our BG fix.
Thanks for sharing, Amanda.
