inspired

For those of you who have been following my blog for some time, you know that last spring I was completely inspired by this. My friend Amy printed a years worth of her blog into the coolest book ever at www.blurb.com

Here are some sample pictures from the website. But you DEFINITELY have to check out Amy's blog to see her finished product.

So I've been working on our 2007 blog book for about a month now. My goal is to have it by Christmas. Then again, I haven't checked to see how long it takes to publish and ship...so I may be pushing my luck.
Amy's book inspired me to use my blog to record and journal lots of our family memories. I love to scrapbook...but let's just say that I have YET to complete Taylor's first year....and I have not even begun a book for Mason (and probably won't...I think I'll take another route for him) And when I do scrapbook, I always hated journaling....but yet I hated that I hated journaling, because I know recording the stories is so important.
So now I get it all down, day by day, week by week, through my blog. I find it therapeutic...relaxing...satisfying....it just makes me feel successful. Before my blog, I cringed at all the memories I failed to get in pictures or on paper.
I'm so excited to have the stories of our family into such nice books...a treasure that I HOPE our kids will appreciate one day.

You will truly love it! This book was my whole purpose behind starting a blog. This doesn't replace scrapbooking for me, but it's all the little things that I wouldn't think to scrapbook about, or all the little things that I would have forgotten about by the time I got around to scrapbooking. (I, too, am a little behind.) :) I can't wait to see your book and I hope that you are as thrilled as I was! (and... it seems like it did ship fairly quickly)
